Dear friends, do you want more confirmed bands? Here you go! This time we will stay within the bounds of the Czechoslovak metal scene. Also, these bands have already played on MGCDF at least once before, but are ripe for a repeat.

So, get ready for:

INSANIA (cz)

The Czech crossover icon INSANIA needs no lengthy introductions, for it is not only active on the local scene since 1987, whereby gaining in all that time an unshakeable position and reputation that ultimately exceeded Czech borders, but also already appeared on MGCDF in 2013. Back then, INSANIA was just about to release their 10th studio album “Zapal dům poraž strom…”, with which the band scored once again in the Anděl Awards of the Czech Academy of Popular Music – in fact a trend that lasts since their “Trans-Mystic Anarchy” album (2001) and that tells much about their music qualities. Next year, INSANIA shall thus return to our stage, bringing along the brand new album “Na počátku byl spam”, which was released this spring, that is, in the year of the band’s 30th anniversary, and is once again doing remarkably well. Be sure then not to miss their spectacle filled with tales of treason and twisted metaphysics!

MALIGNANT TUMOUR (cz)

As we have the 10th anniversary installment and our roster keeps adding the seasoned icons of the Czech metal scene, it would be a sin to omit the Ostrava-based crust’n’roll bandits MALIGNANT TUMOUR, which we welcomed already in 2014, a particularly busy year for this band. Not only were MALIGNANT TUMOUR then promoting their fifth full-length “Overdose & Overdrive”, which was released a year earlier, but they also made in summer 2014 a split “Nación de Metaleros” with the Mexican punkrockers Acidez, and concluded the year with an European tour Metaleros Over Europe. The following years have belonged to the current album “The Metallist”, which was released in 2016, alongside a documentary “The Way of Metallist” that gives a humorous take on the 25 years of the band’s existence. So, get ready for a motherload of dirty metallic rock’n’roll!

SIX DEGREES OF SEPARATION (cz)

It is not only MGCDF that celebrates its 10th anniversary next year, but also MetalGate Records, which means that the vol.10 roster shall also include a delegation of bands signed under our label. Such is the case of SIX DEGREES OF SEPARATION, one of the most distinctive Czech metal bands, whose difficult-to-define style, called metal-soul by the band itself, sounds on the Czech scene since 1996. We joined forces with SDOS in 2013, when the band re-emerged after about a year-long break that followed the release of their DVD “Ubl”, and released their fifth studio album “The Hike & Other Laments”, which the band presented live a year later on MGCDF. Our fruitful cooperation continued, whereby in 2016 we had the pleasure not only to welcome SDOS again on our/your Czech metal feast, but also to release their next full-length “Simple”. This year was also rather busy for the band. In Spring, SDOS embarked on the Czechoslovak Spring Storm Tour alongside Tortharry, then headed to Brutal Assault in August, and in the meantime also prepared, in cooperation with Pařát Magazine, a vinyl re-issue of their debut album “Moon 2002 – Nocturnal Breed” for the 15th anniversary of its release. And next year? First and foremost, hitting our stage for the third time. So be there to welcome them back!

MINORITY SOUND (cz)

Prague-based cyber metal orchestra, and one of the few Czech cyber metal squads in general. Also, another band signed under MetalGate Records, which is with us for almost all of its entire existence, and come to think of it, ours as well, since MINORITY SOUND were the third band to join with us. And to tell the truth, it is fascinating to watch the evolution of their music, the last incarnation of which is the 2015 third studio album “Drowner’s Dance” that moved from purely cyber metal to distinctly orchestral planes and thus served a truly epic take on the last days of mankind. This year, the mastermind of MINORITY SOUND Otus hit our stage with his solo project only to return next year in force with his home band, which by the way recently celebrated their 10th anniversary and laid waste to Mexico on their tour earlier this year. So, if you did not manage to wish them well, now is your chance!

DOOMAS (sk)

Ambassadors of the Slovak dark-doom metal, whose mastermind is Peter Beťko, who in his homeland is involved in everything that has Gothoom in its name. DOOMAS were founded in 2005 and since then, the band released one EP and two full-lengths, that so far last of which, “La Muerte”, was released in 2014, as well as crossed Europe through and through with their shows. DOOMAS appeared on MGCDF in 2015, so it is high time to welcome them back!

Enjoy!
