Dear friends, we are back with more confirmed bands. Today's batch however contains only a single name, which can mean only one thing - another headliner! And since there is never enough of Hellenic metal, we welcome back the iconic Rotting Christ

One of the world’s longest playing black metal acts, the origins of which go back to 1988, surely needs no elaborate introduction. Even though it has been a while since we had the pleasure of welcoming ROTTING CHRIST on MGCDF (it was in 2011 on the groundbreaking third installment), this Athens-based phalanx has toured around the globe before and after so extensively that their renown must have at least reached you by now. Back in 2011, ROTTING CHRIST came while promoting their tenth full-length “Aealo”. Since then, two successors came forth, namely “Κατά τον δαίμονα εαυτού” (2013) and “Rituals”, which further underscored the shift in the band’s musical direction toward multilayered dark metal. In between, in 2015 that is, the band released their very first live album “Lucifer Over Athens”. But that is not the end of it. This year, ROTTING CHRIST are celebrating their impressive 30th anniversary, and so their discography shall get another, special, boost. This February brings the release of a new 7” EP “The Call”, which contains a brand new eponymous song, as well as a live version of the song “Sing Of Evil Existence” that features Nergal from Behemoth and Necroabyssus from Varathron as guest vocalists. March shall then see the release of their best of collection entitled “Their Greatest Spells”. However, as ROTTING CHRIST said themselves, this is not all they have in store for their fans as part of their anniversary celebrations. And since they are celebrating, and so do we, and since they are among those especially close to our hearts, it is clear that we shall welcome ROTTING CHRIST again on MGCDF 2018. So, come to wish them well!

Enjoy and more next time!
